3 album all'attivo per loro, che abbiamo avuto il piacere di intervistare via mail! Una band da ascoltare!!!
I recently discovered your music on youtube. You're fantastic! When the band was founded?
In 2002 we loosely began working on music but it was in 2003 that the music began to take a focused direction.
Why did you choose this name?
Our former live synthesizer player Rosy Cross gave us this name. I believe it was simply a great name that came from his background in Hindu culture and spiritual adventures within. For me it is an example of the human condition or a metaphor of the struggle within and out. In one word a Danava is a demon. A very ancient demon.
What are the bands you take inspiration from?
Too many to mention. Of course, the greats of history but also the underground music of decades past. There is a seemingly unending well of great bands and we arent directly inspired by just one, though foolish music journalists love to write that we are. We love many different kinds of music and no particular band has directly inspired us.
What's the reason why you started playing?
Because its fun. We we're all good buddies and our former drummer Monte and I had been making music together in the early 90's on. This was the first time we focused on one idea though.
What are your greatest influences?
Bands who have there own way of doing their own thing rather than copy/paste styles of the majority of today's music. Bands who approach music through the alchemical process and forge their own personal way of approaching their music. Constant struggle and challenge is important for our development. We dont want to deliver the same shit over and over. Every album should wield a result we can't forsee when going into it.
Are you working on new material at the moment?
Absolutely. We are always working on new material at all times.
how important is musical experimentation?
It is absolutely the number one, be all, end all path for us.
No great record was made without it. Life itself is jack shit without experimentation.
An adjective to describe you?
Congratulations from Italy! Thank you for the interview and good luck!
